Is Your Faith a Costume or Combat Gear?
It’s easy to love the look of faith — going to church, saying the right things, maybe even wearing the “blessed” shirt from Target. But when life throws a curveball — anxiety, temptation, conflict, doubt — is your faith still holding?
In Ephesians 6, Paul isn’t handing out church merch. He’s talking about battle gear — a full suit of armor that doesn’t just look spiritual... it protects you in the fight.
And the truth is — the armor of God isn’t symbolic. It’s Jesus. You’re not just handed equipment. You’re covered in Christ.
The belt of truth? That’s Jesus holding it all together.
The shoes of peace? That’s His presence keeping you grounded.
The shield of faith? That’s believing what He says over what you feel.
And prayer? That’s where it all gets activated.
So today, ask yourself: Are you dressing up for church, or are you gearing up for battle?
Because the enemy isn’t impressed by a look of faith. He flees from a believer who knows how to stand in the victory Jesus already won.
