We’re praying bold prayers for the future of our families, our community, and our church.

We believe 2026 will be a year of spiritual breakthrough—but we’re not waiting to see what happens. We’re His prized possession.

Gratitude isn’t just a nice sentiment — it shifts our expectations. Instead of bracing for danger or disappointment, we start to expect hope, purpose, and goodness.

Life won’t always be easy. In fact, the path might sometimes feel broken, confusing, or uncertain. But God’s plans — His ways — are higher than ours. He sees the full picture. And if we trust Him, we can rest in the promise that He’s writing a story for us that’s bigger and better than we could imagine.

What this means for you (and me)

If you’re a parent: your story isn’t just about you — it’s about your kids. What you believe matters. The hope you live in becomes their foundation.

If you’ve been holding onto regret, shame, or fear: God isn’t done with you. He sees you. He loves you. And He has more — more grace, more purpose, more hope.

If you’re waiting — waiting for a job, healing, clarity, direction — this: God knows what He’s doing. And He’s got good things ahead.

Living with gratitude and hope
It’s not always easy. Sometimes it takes faith to choose thankfulness. But what if we did — every morning, with our first cup of coffee, with our messy lives, with tired hearts? What if we let gratitude shape our expectations?

Maybe we stop walking around half-expecting life to disappoint. Maybe we lean more into what God says about us — about who we are, and who we’re becoming.

So if you’re reading this, and you’re wondering if there’s something better waiting — let today be your reminder: yes, there is. Because God doesn’t give second chances as a backup plan — He gives a new story.

You’ve got a future, and you’ve got a hope.

Recognizing that helps you respond instead of react.

2. Pray Like You're in a Fight (Because You Are)
This isn’t a “Dear God, bless this day” kind of moment.
It’s: “God, I need your help right now. Give me peace, give me wisdom, give me your strength.”
You don’t have to be eloquent, just honest. Talk to Him like you would a friend who’s got your back.

3. Get in the Word (Even Just a Verse)
You don’t need to read a whole chapter every day. But find a verse that speaks truth over your situation and meditate on it.
Here’s one to start with:
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14

4. Bring It Into the Light
The enemy works best in secrecy and isolation. Talk to someone you trust: a friend, a group leader, someone from church. Let them speak life and truth over you. You were never meant to fight alone.

Bottom Line...

Yes, life is hard. And people are messy. But the true fight isn’t with them, it’s with what’s trying to divide, distract, and destroy you from the inside out.

Good news? You don’t have to fight it alone.

God’s already equipped you with His power, His presence, and His people. For Victory Hill Church, that vision has always been simple: help people find and follow Jesus where they live, work, and play. On Vision Sunday, Pastor Mason reminded us that vision isn’t just a “church thing.” It’s vital for every person’s life.

Helen Keller once said, “The only thing worse than being born blind is having sight but no vision.” Vision answers life’s biggest question: Where am I headed? Without it, we drift. With it, our decisions take on purpose.

For our church, vision has carried us from humble beginnings in 1993—when services were held in a cemetery (seriously!)—to the growing community we are today. The building we gather in now was built debt-free, brick by brick, by people who believed in what God could do if they simply trusted Him.

And God has been faithful. In just the first six months of 2025, we’ve celebrated 153 salvations, 67 baptisms, and over half our church involved in small groups. Lives are being changed every single week. Yet as Pastor Mason said, “What we’re experiencing right now is not normal—it’s a genuine move of God. And we’re only scratching the surface.”

That’s why we’re launching the Make Room 2025 Project. Beginning September 2nd, construction will start on upgrades to our worship center: new stadium seating, a second exit for easier flow, upgraded sound and production, and yes—brand new chairs. These changes will allow space for 1,500 adults across two services.

But here’s the best part: this is just the first step. Our vision isn’t about bigger buildings. It’s about creating more space for people to encounter Jesus, find freedom, and step into God’s purpose for their lives.

During September, while construction is underway, we’ll temporarily meet at Alvaton Elementary School for one combined 10am service. We’ll worship together, hear messages from the “Under Construction” series, and keep Victory Kids in full swing. Honey’s Coffee will even be there each week to keep the caffeine flowing. ☕

This season is about more than physical space. It’s about making room in our hearts and lives for what God wants to do next. Victory Hill has always been a church of bold faith. We believe the best is yet to come—and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

Whether you’re brand new, spiritually curious, or looking for your next step, this is the perfect time to get rooted in vision. Because vision isn’t just for a church. It’s for you.

But here’s the thing—faith isn’t a solo sport. Pastor Mason reminded us that even the mighty sequoia trees in California survive not because their roots are deep, but because their roots are intertwined.

That’s how God designed our faith journeys. But what Jesus reminds us is that good soil isn’t just found—it’s formed.
And that formation? It doesn’t happen in isolation.

Growth needs community.

At Victory Hill, we believe faith grows best in circles, not rows. Sunday is powerful, but small groups? That’s where we dig deep. That’s where we get honest, pray bold, and weed out the things holding us back.

God didn’t design you to carry your struggles, doubts, and dreams alone. But He also doesn't ignore repentance.

150 years before Nahum’s prophecy of destruction, the city of Nineveh had a very different outcome. In the book of Jonah, the king heard God's warning and led the people to respond with humility. The result? God relented. Mercy flowed. Disaster was avoided.
Fast forward to Nahum, and we see the opposite. A different king. Same God. Same warning. But no change. And God’s justice came down hard.

So what’s the difference? The position didn’t change—the response did.

Nahum’s message is a mirror for us today. We all hold influence somewhere—in our homes, in our workplaces, even online. And the way we respond to God’s voice doesn’t just impact us—it impacts everyone connected to us.

God’s not out to scare us. But He does want to wake us up.

Are we listening? More importantly… are we heeding?

If we want to lead with hope in uncertain times, we start by leading with humility. Because the God who judges is also the God who relents. And His mercy is still on the table.

Which kind of leader will you be?

The next day? You’re wondering what just hit you.

In this week’s message, Pastor Travis reminded us of a powerful truth from a not-so-talked-about book in the Bible: Nahum. It’s only three chapters, but packed into it is a message we all need right now — God isn’t panicked. He’s present.

“God isn’t just watching things fall apart — He’s the One holding them together.”

That hits differently when you’re walking through something hard.

Peace Doesn’t Mean Predictable

We’ve been taught to crave comfort. But Pastor Travis challenged that idea — comfort doesn’t always mean peace, and discomfort doesn’t mean God is absent. In fact, He might be using the uncomfortable stuff to lead you into purpose.

That’s what happened to God’s people in Nahum. They were surrounded by uncertainty, yet God showed up and promised peace — not because the storm was over, but because He was still in control.

When the Chains Break

Nahum 1:13 says, “Now I will break off his yoke from you and tear off your shackles.”
God isn’t interested in making our burdens slightly lighter. He’s in the business of breaking chains completely — fear, shame, guilt, control. The stuff we think we have to manage on our own? He’s already dealt with it.

But we keep cradling what He’s already broken off.

The message was clear: it’s time to throw it down.

Get Your Song Back

Maybe the most unexpected part of Nahum is how it ends:

“Look, on the mountains: the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace!” (Nahum 1:15)

God’s people had been quiet. Beaten down. But He tells them to celebrate again.
Worship isn’t reserved for when life feels good — it’s what we do when we trust the One who is still good.

So here’s the question:
What’s been stealing your peace — and what would it look like to lay it down?

It might be time to get your song back. Not because everything is perfect, but because God hasn’t gone anywhere.

He Remains

That was the heart of the sermon. Life may change, but God doesn’t. Peace isn’t a feeling — it’s a Person. And His name is Jesus.

So if your world feels unsteady right now, let this be your reminder:
Heaven isn’t panicked. God isn’t adapting — He’s advancing.

And He’s not done with your story.
